The Rack4smart
The Rack4smart is a bicycle rack able to hold 2 bicycles at a time. The Rack4smart will fit on ALL Smart ForTwo 450 (1998-2006), 451 (2007-2013) & 453 (2014-).
The Rack4smart is made of strong aluminum material and is also lightweight; it breaks in half for times when it is not in use, so it can be easily stored.
The Rack4smart is placed at the rear of the car and bolts in the tow hook holes of the bumper.
The Rack4smart secures on the car by the locking system in order to prevent the theft.
The Rack4smart is designed so can be permanent on the car with the accessibility of the boot (by opening the windshield) and the license plate visibility.
The Rack4smart straps secure the bicycle safely while traveling, and additional straps are provided for extra security.
The new Smart ForTwo 453
model,
has only one input for towing hook on the left side of the bumper. In order to create a towing hole to the right, one adapter is screwed to the bottom of the vehicle. This ergonomic mechanism creates the base on the rear right side of the bumper for mounting the Rack4smart
rack.
No holes are drilled in either the bumper or the chassis. The back of the Adapter can be left permanently in the chassis  and by placing the front of the Adapter, the Rack can be screwed.
For installing the Bumper Adapter, you may need professional assistance.
The Rack4smart additional arms (for sea and snow equipment) are
for the transportation of up to 4 skis or 2 snowboards, or 2 skis and 1 snowboard which can be placed in any order depending on the length of your skis and your personal preference in placement orientation, either vertically, horizontally
or diagonally.
